- alpha floor protection/alpha protection
A system designed to prevent an aircraft from reaching very near its critical angle of attack because of slowing down too much. The system automatically increases the thrust of the aircraft when speed is predicted to reach or exceed the critical angle of attack. Often found on newer generations of commercial aircraft, such as the Airbus 320, 330, 340, or 380; Boeing 777; and Fokker 100.
